When Lorin from The Nuthouse Blog challenged me to paint my shoes , I knew I was in, it was happening. I had these black and whites hanging around the studio for about a year. I was planning to make moss covered shoes to place in the Wee Wonderland secret garden, for the gnomes and fairies to live in, but since that was obviously delayed, I thought let's get these beauties painted. Hey, I can give them another life as a gnome home after this.
I striped the heals, inspired by BeetleJuice.
I painted roses, added splotches of color and used a lime green dot around the whole piece to make it feel more cohesive.
They certainly are unique. Perfect for a stroll in Manhattan.
Outlined in white, the flowers really came to life. That was really what helped bring the shoes to life.
Now where am I going to wear these?
My friend Pam thinks they are magical and the response online has been fun .
Now it's your turn to tag someone to #paintyourshoes. Don't forget to send me pics.
Maybe we can send them around like Flat Stanley and make people take pictures wearing them . Potentially gross without socks. Ok, forget that idea.
With love and gratitude,
Michele
