Palmentines-What's the love story you see here?

I was out for a walk this morning, wearing my rose colored glasses as usual. I am a lover. I love people and I'm sure my mission in life is to come from a place of love and  to love and notice love.  I can say that but it's not always an easy thing. So I choose to go find love in a smile or  saying hello to a dog out on a stroll who really just wants to be able to sniff you up and give you a kiss or people watch for some loving moments. I find love in so many places and it always amazes me that when I set my intentions upon it ,it appears.
.

I see a male and female palm . How long have they been here? What are their names? What's their love story. What kind of energy drew one to the other?

Happy Palmentine's Day
Remember to be silly.

Blue Morning Glories as a cut flower. My Coastal Bohemian Garden.

I love blue morning glories. I wish I could wear them, bathe in them, eat them , share them with everyone, take them with me in the car , grow them over my bed and wear them in my halo. I wait for that first bloom every year. I take a picture of the first bloom like it's my child's first day of school.Wacked right?
So it was not out of line for me to take a cutting of the VINE and place it in some water inside my home.

To my amazing surprise my glories continued to bloom for a week. Yes morning glories can be a cut flower. Just remove the spent blooms daily and enjoy.

And here is where they love to grow , very close to the shore of Long Island , NY

Thanks for taking time to enjoy these lovelies.

Florida Keys Hogfish

"Caught only by spearfishermen, this scrumptious fish changes its flavor depending upon what it's been feasting upon when caught" said the glass bottom boat tour guide in Key West ."You may be surprised to find the flavor of shrimp, scallop or oysters when you bite into a bit of Hogfish."

According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, http://myfwc.com/fishing/saltwater/recreational/hogfish ,
Because they tend to root in the sediment in search of small prey, they are not commonly caught on hook and line. Hogfish are primarily harvested by spearfishing, and they are considered to be of excellent food quality.

Minimum length is 12" and currently you are allowed 5 fish per day. Reef fishing gear is required.
The state record was caught in Daytona Beach, FL @ 19lbs.  8oz.

We lucked out when Hogfish was the special  on the menu at Mrs. Mac's Kitchen, in Key Largo during our road trip home.

Truly delicious , we think our hogfish was eating scallops. Yummy, it was as if I was having a seafood platter.

Old Dresser Drawer Storage- A Beach Shabby Chic Recycle

I stopped in at a funky & artsy consignment shop down in Murrells Inlet just south of Myrtle Beach called +Inlet Queens and fell in love with a pair of side tables that I planned to use for bedside tables.

As I was loading them into my truck to bring them home, I realized , suddenly, that I was about to lose the storage that I currently had in the night stands that were back at the condo. Living in the condo has been about maximizing small space and I had just made a big mistake. I had acted spontaneously rather than effectively. Now what?

I had rescued two old wooden dresser draws from the side of the road not long ago and when I got home I took them out , removed the handles and filled the holes with wood putty and then sanded them smooth. Afterwards , I painted them with a quick coat of off white chalk paint and then...there they were...just staring at me.... saying"Ok what next? That's all you've got?"
How could I make them a bit nautical ? Or beachy? Digging around I found an old book about seamanship and used the tarnished pages to help bring some more texture and  life to the inside of the pieces.

Now we were almost there. Something was still missing. The beachy was missing ....the beach bling was missing. Just a few seashells later and I was happy with the finished product. Tell me what you think.

Very Coastal Very Bohemian.
Thanks again, as always, for checking in on what I have been creating. Please post any ideas or suggestions for other ways we can upcycle old wooden dresser draws.
