Since we started renting our condos out  last year we have really been learning the ropes. 

Today, I'll tell you about a simple solution to one of the problems that occurred at the condominium in Myrtle Beach .

This is the pretty set up of towels we leave for our guests. We have a cleaning lady who washes the towels and rolls them back for display for the next guests.

However, the white towels were not staying white because of black splotches from make up removal. 

I know you want to vent for me right here, but let it go. I needed a solution. 

First I bought make up wipes for the counter but the guests took them home with them. Then my  cleaning lady suggested black wash clothes and then I decided dark blue.

 I picked up a few boxes from my studio and rolled up my makeup towels. Perfect fit.

Now ,what to do with them to make sure they get the hint. ????

Hint hint.????Hmmmm

Makeup Removal Labels for Printing

After I printed the labels. I used my clear wax technique for sealing in the ink. It's great when you want to use Mod Podge but worry about ink bleed from printing on home computers.Read how to use the wax on my Conch Shell Sign post.

Then it was so easy to swipe on a little Matte Mod Podge to adhere these to the wood. I also added a layer of Mod Podge to the top of the label to protect it from any water spills.

Finished. Complete. Done. 

The true test will be this season when the guests come in and the white towels are again, truly white.

Outdoor Gnome DIY . I need help. Slightly updated

I want to create a DIY outdoor gnome for my garden, something that will hold up for a bit through the weather. HMMMMM. And he or she should be a #CoastalBohemian or maybe a peaceful gnome who has seen the errors of his/her old ways.

Potentially , I can buy a sitting Buddha and add a gnome hat and beard. Is that defacing Buddah? Or maybe forget the DIY and just buy this puppy. But where is the DIY challenge right. Ok, forget buying Buddah gnome. I mean I could write a post "forget the DIY buy the Gnome" Nah , we have to drill down on the creativity. 

Here is what I have so far.

1 Glass pickle jar

1 auto funnel from the Dollar Tree. 

I have to tell, you that I'm seriously thinking cement here. Time for some research about cementing over glass, as in my pickle jar.

Now look what I have done.

I used caulk along the rim of the jar to attache the gnome hat/auto funnel 

Then I wrapped the funnel in twine using hot glue and E6000

Taking ideas. Help.

Hilton Barbados Beach 2019 #swimminghorses #DiveBarbados #HiltonHotels #HiltonBarbados #Barbadostourism #Snorkelbarbados #Coastalbohemians

Recently, I was lucky enough to travel to Barbados with my sister Jennifer. She treated me to this incredible beach vacation. #CoastalBohemians #coastalbohemiansisters

We stayed at the #HiltonBarbados. It's a 4-4.5 star resort, on some of the "best parts of the coastline beaches in Barbados", according to everyone we spoke with .

Here is a view from our 7th floor room. Off to the right you can see the jetty and some beach front. Most days it was too rough for us to swim and wade and that's why I have included the bay beach that we did go to everyday. You'll find it as you scroll down.

A stroll past the lifeguard station and the water begins to calm and there is this abundance of colorful red and white coral that is so prevalent on the Island. And seriously, the sand was more pink than Bermuda.Yeah, I took some of that sh!T home. I feel like a smuggler hoping not to get caught with the goods. I have had seashells confiscated from me and so I know the heartbreak of loosing my stash.

 This is a spot of sandy beach just off to the side of the Hilton property and if you walk further down away from the Hilton this way you will eventually find a walking path , boardwalk style. 

This was an area that kicked out a few nice red and white corals and also one tiny black and white shell. Not a big seashell vacation at all, but ooooh that pink sand.

This is a view of the Bay area at the Hilton and of the beach we played in everyday. 

Here on the Bay, the waves are softer and you can enter the beachfront from the parking lot of the Hilton. The Hilton keeps a few lounges down there and someone from the property is usually there to bring the lounges out to the beach for you and there is no fee for the lounges if you are staying at the Hilton. 
This beach is not a part of the Hilton property but this was a kinder, more gentle beach and needed to be included here, especially since we spent every moment we could lounging and swimming and walking here.

On this same area of the beach you can find horses swimming in the water with their trainers. (What did she just say?) And according to the staff of the Hilton, you can even find sea turtles swimming and feeding in the morning. 
As for the horses, they take them into the water and out swimming in the bay each morning between 5:30 am -7:00 am. These are the race horses from the nearby track and they are fine looking creatures. 

There is something magical about seeing these beauties up close after their morning routine. This is an Island of pure #Coastal Bohemians, where everyone soaks up the healing pale blue waters, including the horses. Be sure and set the alarm clock on your phone to get over and see the horses. You may even get a chance to pet these equine athletes and maybe if you're lucky you'll catch a glimpse of the sea turtles.

 These are the lounges they have at the beach off the parking lot of the Hilton. Nothing fancy and remember to bring your own towels from the property.

In this pic, I'm standing at the entrance to the beach on the Bay, in the parking lot of the Hilton .You can see it's very close and within walking distance. As you get to the opening you'll see Barbados Blue , the rental company  that includes scuba tours and more.

Funtastic Friday 218

Hello hello friends.

Seashell Clovers St. Patrick's Day

Well it wouldn't be a holiday around here without making something with Seashells! 

As a reminder, you are reading the

 Coastal Bohemian Blog.

Anyway, I had this vision of seashells coming together in a four leaf clover. So I picked up a bag of seashells at the #DollarTree. (BTW, the four leaf clover thing did not happen . This is totally a three leaf clover thing here .)
I did buy the shells and not pull from my stash because I saw them in the bag and they were all sized similarly, which I felt was going to be of importance in this little craft. 

Here's what you need. 

Seashells -similiarly sized
E6000 Glue 
Driftwood bits and pieces for stems

Using three shells I joined them together with the E6000. They don't always touch at the center and so I had to drizzle the E6000 over the center to create a strong bond. 
Next add a piece of driftwood under the group of shells and glue to the back with the E6000. Done. 

                     or 
You can paint them with a coat of green acrylic paint for a little extra pizzazz. 

They are totally whimsical and add a bit of the holiday to the home. Because I used E6000 they can be used outside. 
At this moment  I haven't decided what else I will use these for but I'm open to ideas so make sure to leave suggestions below.
