Upcycled Kitchen Mitt Holiday Decor

Although this has been washed there is a stain on this mitten that won't wash off. Not very pretty . Time to throw it out.

But wait...
Maybe I can paint it for Christmas and winter d├ęcor.
It looks like a large mitten.
One coat of white chalky paint and then a coat or red.
I stenciled the ornaments ,
added the squiggled lines and sparkles.

I have deconstructed a dollar store mop for
it's lovely cotton strands.
That's what I used here to create a handle.

I like to fray the ends. I crisscrossed the cotton strands and glued with a hot glue gun. Then each end gets glue to the side of the mitten.

Next ,I tucked a few festive picks
from the Dollar Tree.
To complete the project, I added a little sign
on a stick and tucked it inside.

This could be done with new oven mitts from the dollar store . Actually , I can see a string of these in place of stockings along the mantle.

Thanks for always playing along.

With love and gratitude,

Michele
