Now......
Read along to see how I created a floral mixed media canvas.

First, I added a few colors of paint to my canvas and spread it around with a baby wipe.

I used a brush too.

Using a floral stencil I traced some flowers onto music paper.
I added a little paint to get some color.
And some to the canvas.
I added some stamping using archival black ink. And I used mod podge to adhere some printed tissue paper. The tissue paper adds a little texture.
After the tissue paper dried, I added a little white  Gesso to soften the lines of the tissue paper. It's quick and easy to just use your finger to apply the Gesso around the page. At the same time I'm softening the look of the stamps. I want them to fade into the background and the Gesso helps achieve that look.
Cut and paste the flowers to the canvas, add a little white paint stenciling.
Using a permanent ink pen I outlined the flowers in a whimsical style.
Adding dots of paint help the flowers come to life. Use the back of the paint brush to do that .

I stenciled the letters to spell Spring , onto tissue paper.

Once you decoupage these into place the tissue paper will pretty much fade into the background.
I used some oil pastels to shade around the flowers and create a border around the word SPRING.

It's a very cheerful addition to our Spring home. Just what a girl needs during this self quarantine.

Now check out the rest of the posts.
