Chalk Painted RV Sofa
So the sofa has begun to peel and flake in the last few months. I feel like it's a manufacturer defect but since we were headed out on a road trip I decided to dive in with a quick paint job and clear coat of wax.
It was my hope to stop the peeling, flaking in it's tracks and not deal with the mess during our trip. Also I have been wanting to paint these faux leather pieces in the RV anyway.😉 I like a pop of color, like this blue.
The tuille, along with the Mr and Mrs banner were part of my decorating for what I like to call, " The Honeymoon Tour."
(It's not perfect but it has the look of worn leather, which I like, minus the flakes now)
See the flakes. Ugh.
I gave the piece a nice wipe down and vacuum. Using my big fat round chalk paint brush, I gave this baby two quick coats. It was seriously very quick and I only used one 8 oz. paint.
After the paint dried , I added two coats of Fiddess and Sons clear wax. This wax is truly amazing!!! If you haven't tried it , I totally recommend you do. It's a good way to wax your wood furniture. Buffing between coats of wax really helped this piece look like it was purchased this color.
I'm addicted to chalk paint and you can see why.

Off to paint some eggs.

Healthy Pepper Poppers
I have been making these stuffed poppers for years. It started with wasabi cheese stuffed inside , placed on skewers and grilled on the BBQ . Let this be an inspiration to you to try your own version of pepper poppers, using your favorite ingredients. These make a tasty appetizer.
Ingredients
1 Brick Cream Cheese
2 tbl Muffalata Mix *
Small Bag of Peppers
* What is Muffalata Mix? It's a perfect blend of minced olives and seasonings, famous in New Orleans on the Muffalata Sandwich. Costco sells a brand that I am in love with for using on and in everything, including, stuffed celery, deviled eggs and muffin omelettes.
So easy to make.
1. Prep the peppers-Rinse and dry a batch of small peppers .Cut a slice length wise along the pepper.
2. Push the slice open and stuff with cream cheese mix.
3. These can be cooked in the oven , in a fry pan or on the grill. The most important thing to do is to begin the cooking with the cut side (stuffed side), down. This gets you pepper cooking and melting and when you turn it over to cook the backside you won't lose the stuffing due to excessive melting. In the oven, I would cook these at 400° turning after 10 min. In a fry pan on the stove top, put in a tbl of olive oil and cook on med heat until brown ,turn and brown some more on the other side.
Ingredients
1 brick cream cheese
2 tbl Muffalata mix
Small Bag of Peppers
Mix muffalata mix into cream cheese with a fork.
These are a great side dish for steak, perfect with rice and beans and they reheat nicely in the microwave. I added one to my turkey and egg breakfast, the next day.
Bonus* Use left over cream cheese mix for stuffed celery stalk treats.
