Sand Pail Ornament
This ornament is so much fun to make and easy too.
Pick up a few of these pails at the Dollar Tree.
Add some embellishment or personalize with markers or printables.
Maybe Include your family name and year. I used white glue to adhere these Hibiscus flowers. I've included a printable sheet here for you too.
You'll need a can of Foam . It's used to block cracks in homes in order to keep out drafts and critters. Find it in most hardware departments. I found this one in Walmart for under $3.00
*******Beware**** This stuff expands to like 5 x it's original size.
Add a squirt to the pail just enough to fill the pail 1/3 of the way to the top.
Let dry overnight.
Next you mix up some sand with a little glitter. Apply glue to the foam and throw on the sand and glitter. I used 2 coats of the sand glitter mix. There are different size grains of sand on the market . I happen to have this big grain on hand and I was worried that I would not like it, however I think it helps hammer home the sand in photos.
I hope you enjoyed this DIY. Please leave a comment in the box below and I 'll be sure and comment back.
I made this ornament as part of the 2019 Ornament Exchange. Pop on over for some DIY inspiration.
With love and gratitude,
Michele
