Faux Finished Frame using Chalk Country Paint

I love to upcycle frames. They are usually easy and quick and the change makes a big impact.
Here I decided to experiment with these adhesive scrolls. They have been in my stash for like 5 yrs now. You peel the back off and the stick .

Next I gave the entire piece a nice thick coating of Elmer's Glue . I'm hoping that this will create a crackle finish when I add the Chalky Paint on top.
Let it dry or if you are like me you use the blow dryer!!!!

I created a thick paint by adding saw dust to the paint. It helps it to look like years of layered paint.

As you can see it worked. Crackles galore.

After it was dry , I gave it a coat of dark wax to help highlight the crackles and buffed it to a shine.

Oh, my vintage heart swoons for this piece.

Here are a few more pieces I upcycled.
Dry brushed

Several layers and colors and distressing of Chalk Country Paint.
I love the nlue peeking through the cream top coat.
Just some cream of wheat and then a little sanding to distress and reveal the plastic frame below the paint.

It all looks beachy to me.

Thanks for playing along.

With love and gratitude,

Michele
